Eluminare, Bluegill Merge

Posted: February 1, 2010

Internet marketing firm Eluminare is merging with Bluegill Creative and will join Bluegill in its new offices at Cherokee Mills.

Eluminaire brings expertise in internet and social media marketing, search engine optimization, pay per click advertising, website analytics, mobile marketing, and custom application architecture to Bluegill’s portfolio of integrated marketing communications. Eluminare also has experience and legal expertise in developing social media strategy for corporations.

In addition, Eluminare’s lead generation techniques will add new assets in the areas of inbound and outbound telephone center setup, customer relationship management (“CRM”) software setup and administration.

Eluminare founder Jeremy Floyd and Bluegill partners Billy Rivet and Dan Alton said, “This merger was not written by lawyers in a conference room. Instead, the relationship between our two companies has grown over brainstorming sessions and shared projects. The right people have written the success stories independently, and now together the right people are going to take Bluegill to new heights.”

Founded in 2003, Bluegill is an integrated marketing communications group serving clients throughout the U.S. in a variety of fields including healthcare, business to business, finance, real estate, and non-profit.

Fish On the Move

Posted: January 29, 2010

After months of planning, Bluegill is excited to announce our move to historic Cherokee Mills on Sutherland Avenue at Concord Street.

Our move offered the opportunity to design a space that meets the needs of marketing and design professionals while reflecting our personality. The result is an open space without walls or cubes, allowing collaboration and taking advantage of the spectacular historic setting.

Built in 1917, Cherokee Mills housed a knitting mill until 1956. In the last 50 years, the complex has been home to a potato chip company, a forerunner to big-box retailing (Atlantic Mills), and offices for a long and diverse list of tenants. Dominion Development Group purchased Cherokee Mills in 2007 and began converting the facility's 200,000-plus square feet of space into class-A office space.

In the Bluegill space, original, wide-plank wood floors and exposed brick walls are preserved. Antique wood panel doors from the old 5th Avenue Hotel, (via Knox Heritage), are fashioned into desks and work surfaces. Our loft makes great use of the 20 foot high ceilings.

The relocation also brings us back together with Pershing Yoakley & Associates, a major client and an affiliate company.

Our phone number's the same - 865-544-5321. Our physical address is 2220 Sutherland Ave., Knoxville, 37919. Our mailing address is PO Box 11746, Knoxville, 37939.

Billy Rivet in Business Journal’s “40 under 40”

Posted: January 27, 2010

Billy Rivet, Bluegill Creative partner, has been recognized as one to the region’s outstanding young business leaders.

Billy, 35, was selected for the 2009 Greater Knoxville Business Journal's “40 Under 40” award. The monthly publication calls this year’s honorees “a diverse group of East Tennesseans who have excelled in their respective fields and given back to the community that's helped them achieve their success. They're innovators, value creators and agents of change.”

Billy and Dan Alton founded Bluegill Creative in 2003 to do design and marketing apart from their day jobs. Billy’s design of a publication for Pershing Yoakley & Associates led to PYA becoming a Bluegill client, a minority partner in the company, and Billy and Dan leaving their day jobs for Bluegill full time.

Bluegill’s growth, Billy says, comes from building relationships and creating a story that people can “feel emotionally connected to.”

“Being the owner of a decent-sized marketing and communications firm came about because of one brochure I did,” he says.
